what is St David's Day?

"Well, Saint David, or Dewi Sant, as he is known in the Welsh language, is the patron saint of Wales. He was a Celtic monk, abbot and bishop, who lived in the sixth century. During his life, he was the archbishop of Wales, and he was one of many early saints who helped to spread Christianity among the pagan Celtic tribes of western Britain"(OICCU,1994) That is the St David's Day which defined by Internet. I'm a student who now is learning in Welsh, St David's Day will be a very big festival for Welsh people. In Welsh language that day called "Dydd Gwyl Ddewi". Almost all of Welsh people will trate this festival very important. It is always held on March, and all society of welsh will held the special meeting or party during that day. I hope to feel that mood. I can not waiting for that day coming!

Employeement in Britain

the reason why I choose the further education is to get better pay and more career space in the future. the distances between every country seem to be shorter and shorter, the international trade will be the Major trade of the world. Because I like the UK's view, so I come to the UK having my further education doing the MSc course. I expect the future master degree will make me have more chances to be interviewed in the multinational companies.

Health Issue in Britain

The word GP may be very familiar in Britain. It means free medical. The ambulance in UK seems very professional as well. Every time when I hear the alarm of emergency, all cars on the road give ways of them. Human lives usually come first! I have already registered a GP. Although Briton do things very strictly, they can break some rules for some one who are seriously hurt to treat that one.

But the hospitals in China cost very much. Most of worker level people can not pay the best treatment. They have to choose the cheaper mortician instead of the expensive one. Usually the expensive mortician have better efficiency than cheaper one. Even if someone in countryside have never go in a hospital till they die.

The most different thing between developing country and developed country is how much the government pay attention to the people in their country.

Education in Britain - Homeschooling

Homeschooling in UK is legal. This information shock me a lot. In China, I can't image a child doing homeschooling with the parents. It's legal anyway, but there is no use for a knowledgeable person without degrees to find a job. There are too many persons in China. Homeschooling in UK may be different. In my opinion, a knowledgeable person can finish the work tasks no matter he has a degree or not.

History of Halloween

These days, Britons were busy celebrating Halloween. Halloween is a traditional Festival of Western countries. About its history, there is a lot of versions of that, the most popular one I think is one story is that, on that particular day, the disembodied spirits of all those who had died throughout the preceding year would like to come back in search of living bodies to possess for the next year. It was believed to be their only hope for the afterlife. People should dress up on that day and make some performances of ghosts with a pumpkin light.

Symmetrical Families

Compare with the families between Britain and China, there are lots of differences between them.

First I will talk about the structure of the families. In Britain, it is legal for the families which are same sex families, single mum or dad. In China, the structure of the families always should have a mother, a father and a child. Because of the culture, divorce is a shame thing, and more than 30 aged single person will become a special person on the other eyes.

Second I will talk about the functions in the families. In Britain, family members seem like more fair than Chinese ones. In our country, women should look after the children, do the housework, cook, serve the husband. Whatever they can do, they are wives. Husbands relax more after work.

Third I will talk about the the ideas of the families. In Britain, I notices that some families have no large mount of cash in bank. They always sell the belongings pay for the trips or other journey. I had heard a story of a couple. They sold their bed to earn enough money for their trip to Paris. In China, you can't image that. All of family members work hard to save money. Whatever they have no idea how to use it at all.



I really don't know how much amount of cash in bank. I am doing the research in it. But it is really a personal things, so it will take me a long time.

Families Size

The families members are getting older and older. According the Research we had learnt in class, the oldly will keep increase. The people age between 30-59 will decrease. By the year 2024, the working people will less than retire people. The tendes of the families seems like to be order and order.

The policy will impact the families size too. Government will consider more about the oldly. For example, when Brown Government began operating the UK, a lot of price of the things have grown. Flour eggs oil and other complimantory were increased. That will impact the oldly. Because the social benifit were not grown at all.
